Week 6 - Copied Walk - Animator's Survival Kit

This walk is copied from the Richard Williams' Animator's Survival Kit.  He copied it from Milt Kahl.  I have been getting better at going through my own animation frame by frame and fixing mistakes, so this one should play very smoothly.

Week 6 - Copied Walk

This weeks theme is to find a walk you like from some other animation, analyze it, and then animate your own version of with a different character.  The point is to study how other animators create walks, not just to copy it frame by frame.

Week 5 - Satanic Sneak

When I first started this, I didn't intend on doing anatomical detail; but halfway through, I thought it would be look cool.  I wasn't sure if it would work.  I am happy with the results.  The lines boil a lot.  That is not surprising, since this is only an exercise, I didn't put much effort into making them not boil

Week 5 - The Sneak

The theme for this week's walk is sneaking.  The character must walk with light feet,  making as little noise as possible.  He/she/it will probably creep on his toes trying not to be detected.  The choice of character is up to you.

Mind Control (Sort of) - John Guy

It's radio control, that's sort of mind control. I wanted to try to animate details since that is something I have had trouble with in previous weekly walks. I feel pretty successful in getting the details to animate without too much boil. I also wanted to try a more extreme perspective. There are some places where he pops. The Camera shake covers them nicely, but you can see it in the rough version. I did intended on the camera shake from the beginning. I didn't just add it to cover my mistakes. I could have spent more time fine tuning the motion and less on the details.

Right, so here's my wizard. I think he's a little jaunty, but that's what happens. I tried to not oppose the hands with the legs, and it turned out kinda good. Yes, it's poppy, but I'm not doing inbetweens for this one...

Week 4 - Hypnotized or Mind Control

The Theme for this week's walk is a hypnotized walk. The Character's mind is somehow under the control of an outside force. The character can be whatever you want as long as it walks in a way that reveals that he/she/it is under mind control.

Better late than never, I suppose. Here's the bouncer walk, in the form of Johnny Bravo.

The Dainty Walk - John Guy

Here is my submission for the dainty walk. Is it a lady bulldog or a male bulldog cross-dressing? You decide.

Week 3 - Dainty Walk

This week's theme is a dainty little girl walk. The walk should be feminine yet not seductive or sultry. This does not mean the character has to be a little girl. The character can be whatever you want as long as he/she prances around in a way that if a grown man did, he may receive politically incorrect comments regarding his lack of masculinity.

Alex - My Wizard Walk... Finally

I like the character. I may go back and actually refine his design. As for the walk, using a cane is much harder in a walk than I thought it might be. Also, the lamp swings too evenly. I may go back and change that timing.

The Wizard - John Guy

Here is my wizard walk for this week. He came out less wizardly then I would have liked. Also, I need to learn how to animate details in TVPaint. The single pixel pen may not have been the best choice since it boils like crazy. -John Guy
